The "Click It Or Ticket" Road to Fascism

It's a person's choice to be an idiot and not buckle up. Sorry 6000, but that's the way it should be. Next thing you know the government will be wiping our collective arses.

Is this some sort of sick joke?

The only reason why they have to enforce the law in this way is because of idiots who harp on about their rights being infringed if anyone says boo to you.

So if you sit in the back seat of a car without a seatbelt, risking the life of the person sitting in front of you, is this some sort of sick liberty?

There have been laws in place to protect people from hurting themselves for sometime now. For instance I think you'll find in most countries it is illegal to commit suicide. And I agree with Plato in that these laws help protect other people from your stupidity as well as yourself.

It is not the government's, nor is it anyone else's business whether I wear a seatbelt. This is something that effects my well being, and I will choose what is best for my well being. Don't get me wrong, I strongly recommend that everyone wear a seatbelt. This "Click It or Ticket" nonsense is like writing tickets for not wearing your coat when its snowing. This is just another reason for Nazi law enforcment to pull people over and take their money.
