I agree with you 100%. We are being brought up on America being a nanny state.
I do not disagree with assistance programs, but they need to stress more training, schooling, and incentive to be gainfully employed.

As a Christian I find authoritarian capitalism to be at odds with the Gospel message.

It therefore deeply saddens me to see the so called Christian leaders of my nation and yours, celebrate a culture that applauds getting rich at the expense of others. I'm not against the accummulation of personal wealth... but I do oppose it when it willingly exploits the poverty of others.

We don't live in a democracy, or even a meritocracy... we live in a plutocracy.

Despite this, Merry Christmas to you! (not of the Coca Cola Corporation variety though)
