I enjoyed this article. I often have read things on Thoreau and I like his philosphy. I am learning to slow down. I live in a rural area and really don't have much choice I suppose. But even out here things seem to be getting fast paced.

One of my hopes is that my kids will enjoy a slow pace too. They get to learn on their own basically as we homeschool them. They have learned to stop and smell the roses, prune them and take care of them. A garden teaches you to slow down. Thanks for the wonderful read.

Imagine what it would be like in another 100 years. I think things happen in cycles, maybe we will revert back to the simpler ways of life. I would like my children to grow up living in a less hectic world, and north america is just not the place for them. A big chunk of my day is at work, and we already have the technology to work at home, so why are offices still around. Hopefully, one day, people can all work from home.

He once said "Go confidently into the direction of your dreams."

Might be more like running, but still, it's a nice quote.
